Diarmuid Gavin teams up with Electric Ireland to help homes go green

The garden designer and the utility company will show how smart meters can save electricity – and money – as we move toward a more sustainable way of life

Diarmuid Gavin: ‘We all know we’re in a crisis environmentally and garden ideology that pursues control and keeping spaces too pristine is out’

Electric Ireland teamed up with well-known garden designer Diarmuid Gavin recently to officially launch its Home Electric+ plans for homes with smart meters installed.

The National Smart Metering Programme will ultimately see ESB Networks replace 2.4 million electricity meters with next generation smart meters. As part of the programme, all households in Ireland will receive a smart meter and, once it is installed, they will be able to experience the benefits of the new technology.
