Developers brave rising costs to progress building projects

The most recent figures from CIS show more than 50 residential builds under way, while the government has logged nearly 30,000 commencements in the past year

One of the larger developments being progressed is the Kilcarbery Grange development, which will provide 1,034 residential units, a community facility, a retail unit and two childcare facilities

While the impact of rising construction costs on the supply of residential accommodation is causing concern among economists and commentators, some developers are persisting with their projects.

This is shown by recent figures from the Construction Information Services (CIS) monitor since the start of July which showed more than 50 residential projects at various stages of development around the country.
