Centre of excellence food campus opens in Galway
The country’s first hub dedicated to supporting start up, micro and small food businesses
Ireland’s agri-food sector is thriving. It employs about 6.5 per cent of the country’s workforce – or nearly 165,000 people and exports about €1 billion worth of fresh or chilled Irish beef, butter, cheese and whiskey per year.
No surprise then that the country’s first national centre of excellence dedicated to supporting start up, micro and small food businesses has opened in Athenry, Co Galway.
