In an ideal world, city dwellers would live within 15 minutes of everywhere they need to be on a daily basis, relying solely on walking, cycling and public transport. Parents would all bring their kids to school, creche and the childminder in the front of cargo bikes, which they would also use to do all their shopping. Cars would then only be required for longer journeys to other parts of the country.
