Varadkar needs to start putting his own stamp on the office of Taoiseach

With polls showing little sign of a Leo Leap, the new Taoiseach will have to hit the ground running when the Dáil returns from its summer break

Leo Varadkar was supposed to be the Taoiseach that would give the minority government a new sense of purpose and direction and make Fine Gael more popular as a result. But after one month, there is no indication from the polls, including last weekend’s Red C survey for this newspaper, that the country is exactly bowled over by its new leader.
