Teachers have expressed concern about increased behavioural problems in the classroom after Covid 19 as new figures show that 125 teachers were assaulted by students last year.

The problem is most acute at primary level, with 119 teachers in primary school assaulted by students in the 2022/2023 school year, compared to six secondary school teachers.
