Tillage farmers in need of ‘urgent assistance’ in face of climate change

Tillage farmers are in need “urgent assistance” and “discrete policies” to help them in the face of climate change, Micheál Martin has said.

The Fianna Fáil leader said there was “real angst and concern” in the farming community driven by the changing weather patterns.

“It’s a crisis within tillage and suddenly it’s becoming very clear to us the impact of climate change on food production,” he told RTÉ’s The Week in Politics.
