Verona Murphy, the Independent TD, has called for the state spending watchdog to be brought in for audits of council finances after the emergence of a multi-million Prsi bill for Dublin city council.

The council has admitted to RTE News that it misclassified a “small number” of workers who were designated for the wrong category of Prsi.

Up to 180 workers were paying Prsi at Class D, when they should have been on Class A. ...
