State needs ‘IDA for offshore wind’ Dáil hears

The state should establish an “IDA for offshore wind” if it wants Ireland to become Europe’s “leading clean energy exporter”, the Dáil has heard.

Denis Naughten, Independent TD and a former Minister responsible for environment and energy, was addressing Simon Coveney, the Minister for Enterprise, during leaders questions, where he also proposed spending windfall corporate tax receipts on electricity and port infrastructure to unlock the “massive economic potential” of offshore wind.
