Social Democrats TD Catherine Murphy calls for compulsory purchase order on Castletown House lands

Catherine Murphy, the Social Democrats TD, has called for the state to use a compulsory purchase order to secure access to what was once Ireland’s “biggest house”.

235 acres of land adjacent to the Castletown House was bought last April by two Kildare-based developers, Killross Properties and Springwood, for more than €5 million.
