Sinn Féin’s motion proposing a TV licence fee “amnesty” has been labelled as a “stunt” to distract from other issues.

Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, the Labour party TD, said that he believed it was a “subtle nod” that indicated it was acceptable not to pay the TV licence fee.
