SBCI boss gets €30,000 bonus for ‘exceptional performance’

State-backed banking corporation declined to give precise reason for June Butler’s extra payment

The state-backed Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) has awarded its chief executive a €30,000 bonus for “exceptional performance”.

The board of the national bank which lends to SMEs agreed to pay the bonus in March to June Butler on top of her annual salary of €250,000.
