Ross under fire as waiting lists for driving tests double

The Minister for Transport Shane Ross has come under fire for forcing learner drivers to wait up to seven months for a driving test.

The long delays mean that learners cannot take up jobs which require a driving licence, and are forced to keep paying higher insurance premiums for their provisional licences.

The number of people waiting for a test has almost doubled in the past two months, up from 44,000 last October ...
