Roads surrounding government headquarters have been closed this morning as the Dáil prepares for a seismic day that will see the election of Simon Harris as taoiseach.

Road closures have been enacted on Kildare Street, Merrion Street West and Molesworth Street, according to An Garda Síochána, while TDs and ministers return to Leinster House after the Easter recess.
