Revenue to collect vacant homes tax from 8,000 households
Labour TD says tariff has ‘all the hallmarks of a token tax’ as just 15 per cent of registered owners will have to pay due to exemption rules
The Revenue is expecting to collect the vacant homes tax from around 8,000 households next year.
The tax will be three times the local property tax bill of the property, which the government hopes will push households to either renovate or sell their empty properties.
