Confirmed: EU and UK strike deal on Northern Ireland protocol

An agreement marks the end of a three-year ordeal since Britain officially left the EU in 2020

The UK and EU have agreed a deal on the Northern Ireland protocol.

Rishi Sunak, the British Prime Minister, is due to announce more details of the arrangement in a press conference at 3.30pm alongside Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission’s president.
