Report urges FG to scrap ‘outdated’ newsletters

Paper bulletins from ‘bygone age’ should be replaced by text alerts and Facebook, says report

Fine Gael is being urged to scrap glossy four-page newsletters that party representatives distribute to voters in their constituencies.

Many of the party’s TDs and councillors produce the quarterly bulletins to highlight their own work locally and that of Fine Gael at a national level.

Other parties also produce similar literature.

But a report into the Fine Gael’s disastrous general election, published last week, has recommended that their effectiveness be reviewed.
