Redress guide being revised to cut costs of insurance in injury claims
Injuries Board hires firm to study court awards for whiplash, back pain and other ailments; l Insurance Ireland refuses to provide data on personal injury claims settled outside of court
The personal injury compensation awards guidebook is being revised for the first time in 12 years to help reduce spiralling insurance costs.
The Injuries Board has hired a specialist firm to study the court awards and settlements made over the past two years for whiplash, back pain, loss of limbs and other injuries.
It will help to ensure that there is consistency between the personal injury awards made by the board and by the courts.
