Peter Burke calls on Low Pay Commission to consider pace of living wage introduction

Minister for Enterprise said the commission is independent but he hoped it would consider the impact of recent changes on small firms

The Low Pay Commission should consider the increased costs facing businesses in Ireland when making its recommendation in July regarding further increases to the minimum wage, Peter Burke has said.

The minister for enterprise was speaking after the government announced a new support package for small and medium enterprises on Wednesday.
