New pay deal to give €1.25 hourly increase to 16,000 security guards

A new pay deal has been announced for 16,000 security guards who have been left in limbo for the past two years.

Neale Richmond, the Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, has signed an order to increase the wage rates for security guards from the minimum rate of €11.65 per hour to €12.90 per hour from September 4 onwards.
