National shared mobility unit to speed up access to e-bikes, cargo bikes and scooters
Unit to engage with shared mobility operators, local authorities and the NTA to develop and guide policy around shared mobility
A shared mobility unit has been established in the Department of Transport to drive greater availability and use of shared car, e-bike, cargo bike and scooter services.
Shared mobility is any transport service whereby people share access to vehicles, bikes or other modes of transport instead of owning those modes of transport. In Ireland, the largest shared mobility schemes are for bikes, but there are also shared car services, shared e-bikes, and share e-scooters.
