National minimum wage set to rise to €15 per hour within three years

The Low Pay Commission’s annual report shows that has calculated that two further increases of more than €1 per year in the minimum wage will be needed to reach the government’s target of turning it into a “living wage.”

Employers are facing further hikes of over €1 per year in the national minimum wage to bring it to €15 per hour, according to the Low Pay Commission's new report.

The Commission recently recommended that the national minimum wage of €11.30 be increased by €1.40 to €12.70 on January 1, and the decision was accepted by the government in last week’s Budget.
