More options on way to house asylum seekers, junior minister says

The government is on the cusp of announcing “more immediate options” to get homeless asylum seekers off the streets, Joe O’Brien, the junior minister, has said.

He would not be drawn on specifics because of a “reluctance to be identified” on the part of providers.

“We are opening new accommodation every week,” O’Brien told the Business Post in Brussels last week, where he was travelling as part of the government’s St Patrick’s Day programme.
