Michael McGrath has declined to rule himself out of the running to become Ireland’s next European Commissioner.

The finance minister is one of a number of prominent politicians linked with a move to Europe when the position becomes available.

McGrath said the role was “incredible important” for Ireland but did not specifically say whether he would be interested in the move to Brussels.
