Catherine Martin, the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media, has no proposals for staff redundancies or selling assets at RTÉ, a spokesman for the minister has said.

It comes following reports from the Irish Mail on Sunday of significant redundancies at the national broadcaster, which could cost up to 400 jobs, the splitting of the broadcaster and the possible sale of the 2FM radio station.

The reports have been rejected by fellow government ministers and condemned by politicians in government and opposition.
