Justice Minister ‘certainly supporting’ Special Criminal Court

The Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has said she and her Fine Gael party will “certainly” be supporting the renewal of the Special Criminal Court.

It comes as an independent review of the court has recommended that it should be replaced with a new special court for “exceptional cases.”

Confirming her party will be voting to renew the non-jury court, McEntee told RTÉ’s Morning Ireland it has “stood the test of time”.
