The Green Party has described the postponement of the use of facial recognition technology by gardaí as a “good outcome” after winning its battle with Fine Gael on the issue.

Fine Gael wanted to add in the use of artificial intelligence-powered facial recognition technology into a bill to legalise garda bodycam recording devices.
