The government is considering limiting financial supports for Ukrainian refugees after a confidential cabinet report found that Ireland is one of only three EU countries paying them full social welfare benefits.

All EU countries are required to provide social welfare assistance to Ukrainian refugees who have fled following the Russian invasion of their country, but there is a wide variety in the level of payments provided.
