Minister of State Ciaran Cannon is at loggerheads with his constituency colleague over a plan to turn an abandoned railway line into a greenway.

The rail line running through Athenry, Tuam and Milltown in Galway has been closed for passenger traffic since 1976, despite a vigorous campaign to revive it.

Now Minister of State Ciaran Cannon is backing the conversion of the rail line to a greenway.
