Foley plans to provide free school books for Leaving Cert students
The Minister for Education also said that the free secondary school books scheme would not cover fee-paying students
Norma Foley, the Minister for Education, said she plans to extend the free secondary school books scheme to fifth and sixth year students.
She announced in the Budget that free secondary schoolbooks would be provided for 210,000 first year, second year and third year students at a cost of €67 million.
At her post-budget press conference today, Foley confirmed she wanted all secondary school students to be covered by the scheme in future.
