EU launches new legal procedures against UK over NI protocol

European Commission says the aim of the infringement procedures is to secure compliance with the protocol in a number of key areas

The European Commission has taken further legal action against the British government for failing to implement the Northern Ireland protocol.

The move comes after the British government’s bill to over-ride key parts of the legally binding protocol was passed by the House of Commons this week.
