The National Transport Authority (NTA) has agreed to rent a new headquarters in Smithfield in Dublin at a cost of up to €120 million over the next 20 years.

Eamon Ryan, the Minister for Transport, got cabinet approval to rent a new base for the NTA despite opposition from the Department of Public Expenditure which questioned why the transport agency wanted to lease a building which would fit far more staff than it currently has.
