Eamon Ryan says many local councils still think urban areas ‘pivot around the car’

Less than half of the government’s 2022 budget for active travel projects, such as walking and cycling, has been drawn down

Eamon Ryan has said it is “disappointing” that there has not been a larger drawdown on active travel funding by local authorities.

His comments come following a Business Post analysis which revealed most local authorities around the country have drawn down less than half of their available funding with just weeks to go until the end of the year.
