€87m Velodrome will deliver on value in Olympic medals, Sport Ireland insists

The project’s budget has already soared from an original price tag of €60 million, tender documents show

Sport Ireland has insisted that the new €87 million Velodrome is going to deliver more Olympic medals for Ireland.

It came after the national sporting development agency was questioned at the Dáil’s Public Accounts committee about whether the new facility in Abbotstown in Dublin would deliver value for money.

The project’s budget has already soared from €60 million to €87 million, according to recently published tender documents.
