€500m boost to Children’s Hospital cost will be ‘final big settlement’ in contentious project, says Donohoe

Paschal Donohoe has said that the roughly €500 million boost to the National Children’s Hospital budget will be the “final significant settlement” that government will make in relation to the spiralling cost of the project.

Speaking to reporters today, the minister for public expenditure fired back at critics who said the hospital - which has repeatedly come under fire - should have been re-tendered when costs started increasing.
