Counties with highest refugee population to gain most from €50m state community fund
Government launches recognition fund to enhance sport and recreational facilities in towns accommodating Ukrainian asylum seekers
The counties which have taken the most Ukrainian refugees have been the biggest beneficiaries of a new €50 million state fund for new facilities.
There are currently around 83,000 Ukrainian refugees in the country but some counties and towns have taken a much larger share than others.
The government has now launched a new €50 million community recognition fund to enhance sports and community facilities in these areas.
