Consumer supports top the agenda of McGrath’s meeting with banks

Finance minister has met with lenders to discuss how the sector can better support consumers struggling with high interest rates

The banking industry and other non-bank lenders must demonstrate that they are “delivering for borrowers in difficulty with supports and certainty, and developing long-term sustainable solutions for borrowers,” Michael McGrath has said.

The Minister for Finance convened a meeting with representatives of the banking and mortgage sector on Thursday to discuss measures they can take to support consumers.
