Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Denis Naughten has resigned. He told the Dáil it was clear that the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar no longer had confidence in him.

Naughten had come under fire from opposition parties for meetings with Granahan McCourt chairman David McCourt, who is heading a bid for the state-subsidised National Broadband Plan contract.
