The government is sending representatives to dozens of countries for the holiday

Charlie McConalogue has been named as the minister with the highest carbon emissions during the cabinet’s biggest ever global St Patrick’s Day tour.

The government is sending 33 ministers to countries around the world, including ten to the USA alone, to promote Ireland at St Patrick’s Day events abroad.

McConalogue, the Minister for Agriculture, has flown to New Zealand, where he is visiting Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
