Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan has sought the attorney general’s advice on using the DNA technique which tracked down the suspected Golden State killer in the US.
The Golden State killer was responsible for 12 killings, 45 rapes and more than 120 residential burglaries in California in the 1970s and 1980s.
