Drafting legislation to ban ticket touting is fraught with difficulties

A blanket ban on selling tickets at above face value could have unintended consequences

Pseudoscientists christened the third Monday in January as Blue Monday after identifying it as the most depressing day of the year. I always thought that this was nonsense. But as I spent last Monday morning frantically hitting the refresh button on Ticketmaster unsuccessfully trying to purchase tickets for U2’s Joshua Tree tour, while I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For played mockingly in the background, I began to think that they might be on to something.
