Get ready for plenty of spin  as the British revert to type

David Davis’s claim that Sinn Féin is influencing the Irish government is part of a spin cycle the British government hopes will show it as blameless when a hard Brexit comes

The Good Friday Agreement anniversary party is over, and now the hangover begins. I’m afraid this column can bring you neither cheer nor optimism this Sunday morning. For a start, David Davis’s remark that Sinn Féin was somehow forcing the hand of the Irish government on Brexit was as revealing as it was idiotic.
