The Business Post Group is a diversified media group with a strong technology, data, digital and experience-driven portfolio of businesses.

The flagship brand of the Business Post sits at the centre of the group and is now a seven day a week media platform, businesspost.ie, producing must-have business, politics, economics and current affairs commentary, analysis and opinion.

The Business Post wishes to recruit an online journalist to work on Businesspost.ie, its seven-day digital business, current affairs and politics news service.

This is a full time, permanent role based at the company’s offices in Dublin.

The role will involve:

*Working in a fast-paced digital newsroom and being able to deliver quality content on a quick turnaround basis to a very high standard.

*Operating on a shift rotation between the hours of 6am and 10pm daily, across seven days.

*Filing breaking stories for Businesspost.ie at the direction of the news desk; including markets updates, company results and national economic updates.

*Generating original digital content relevant to the Business Post audience.

*Managing international wire feeds and adapting the content for the Business Post audience.

*Working with data analysts and social media managers to ensure the most-effective delivery of Business Post content via various output channels.

The successful candidate should have:

*A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in communications, journalism, or a related field is preferable.

*At least one years experience working in an online/digital publication, news website or broadcaster. Experience in business journalism is an advantage.

*A digital native with an interest in learning and development.

*Strong working knowledge of publishing tools, such as MS Office, InDesign and Digital Content Publishing Systems.

*Experience in mobile & video journalism and multimedia content creation.

*Experience with SEO, social media platforms, scheduling tools and the publishing of newsletters.

*Excellent writing and proofreading skills.

*Good attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.

*Have an up to date working knowledge of Irish defamation law.

*A self-starter who can work on own initiative and take responsibility for their work.

*Strong administrative and organisational skills.

*Flexible attitude and approach to tasks in hand to include working flexible media/shift hours.

*Can work proactively and independently but can also take instruction and work as part of a team.
