Eamon Ryan will advocate for a phase out of fossil fuels and forcing energy companies to invest profits in clean technology as the lead negotiator for the EU on climate finance at COP 28.

The Irish Minister for Environment has been reappointed as the EU’s lead negotiator on climate finance, having taken on a similar role at last year’s United Nations climate negotiations.
