Watchdog probes Law Society in missing files row

Data Protection Commission carried out inspection following complaint

The offices of the Law Society in Dublin 7 were inspected last Tuesday amid allegations that documents containing solicitors’ client data, including bank account details, were inadvertently leaked.

The Data Protection Commission attended the Society on foot of a complaint from the struck-off solicitor Colm Murphy that certain records relating to his own file had been misplaced or deleted by the society.
