Waiver on development and water levies for homebuilders extended

The exemptions were first introduced last year in a bid to stem the impact of construction material inflation on house prices

The government has extended a scheme for developers that waives the need to pay contributions towards councils’ infrastructure budgets and water connection charges.

Under each planning application, developers are required to pay levies to the relevant local authority to cover the costs of roads, public infrastructure and water connections.
