The boss of Ireland’s leading commercial TV station, Virgin Media Television, is demanding RTÉ’s removal from the commercial advertising market.

Virgin managing director Paul Farrell has written to Media Minister Catherine Martin seeking the "divestment” of its non-public service broadcasting assets.
