Varadkar met with Stripe on trade mission

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar sought out insights from online transactions company Stripe during his trade mission to Silicon Valley last year, documents show.

Varadkar requested the meeting and wanted an overview of its business and presence in Ireland, according to a source.

The source said that Stripe’s head of regulation, Michael Cocoman, updated Varadkar on its business as well as Stripe’s investment in Ireland.
