Ursula Von Der Leyen, has said that the world has "not learned its lesson" from previous energy crises, while the fossil fuels industry has now become "heavily subsidised".

Speaking at the International Energy Agency (IEA) Ministerial conference in Paris on Tuesday, the president of the European Commission also said that Europe’s worst energy fears in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine never materialised thanks to the cooperation of European countries.
