UK watchdog’s move to drop Kingspan prompts questions in Ireland

Move follows British standards body BRE cutting ties with firm on foot of Grenfell fire inquiry

The state’s construction watchdog has questioned Kingspan over the compliance of its insulation products after a leading British standards body cut ties with the company after the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, the Business Post can reveal.

The National Building Control and Market Surveillance Office (NBCO) has also written to Ireland’s official certifying body, asking if it has found any certification issues with products manufactured by the Cavan insulation giant.
